Rosie Cunningham's Blog

17th November 2017 I thought I would share some news of what I have been up to. I have been very busy preparing for two exhibitions, the first of which starts on 25th November - well next week! I am taking part in the ManUp exhibition, which is supporting Pete's Dragons, a South West run charity, which provides comfort after suicide loss. It is a first all round as it is a multi dimensial collaborative piece with the music producer Kuba, something new for me and very exciting. We are both very pleased with the outcome and can't wait to share our efforts with everyone on the 25th. If you are local to Plymouth it will be showing at Studio 102 Vauxhall St PL4 0DD. The opening event starts at 7p.m. and it would be great to see you there. If you can't make the opening event it runs until 2nd December. Got to dash now but will tell you all about the second exhibition later. Keep smiling Rosie 23rd July 2017 As usual it has been a while since I last wrote! I have been very busy with the Dream Series of paintings and lots of new initiatives. This year I have joined Drawn to the Valley (DTTV) and I will be taking part in the Plymouth Art Trail which is taking place during DTTV Open Studios from 2nd to 10th September. On the 8th September I will be running a workshop "An Introduction to Abstract Art" if you want to join me in exploring abstract painting this fun workshop is limited to six participants and I am taking bookings now via the contact page. Promise to catch up soon - have a great summer Rosie.

29th March 2017

March has flown by, which means I have been busy and that's great. Three paintings have winged their way to new owners and I have continued working hard on my new dream series of paintings. I am really pleased with how they are working and the whole process has been both fun and therapeutic. I am facinated by dreams; that curious world into which we go in our sleeping hours, where nothing seems to make sense. I have a friend whose interpreation of dreams helps to make sense of them, which I sometimes wonder is a good thing or whether I am better off not making sense of!! Today there is an Art Extravaganza at Lola's school, Fletewood. The childrens art produced at the workshop earlier this month is on sale and my painting Entering is to be auctioned in aid of the Shekinah Mission for the homeless. If you like Entering please place a bid by phoning the school before 3 p.m. on 29th March 2017 on 01752 663782. Lastly you will see some new paintings have been uploaded so please have a browse. Take care and enjoy the warmer weather, which we are promised is around the corner!

10th March 2017

The Persona Perspective exhibition was a great success. I met lots of new people and attracted new collectors to my work.

It has been a busy first two months of the year what with the exhibition to hang and then take down, followed closely by a children's workshop at Fletewood School.  The brief was to introduce the children aged 3 - 10 to abstract art.  The children were split into age groups for two sessions - 3-6 and 7-10.  The little ones tackled portraiture with great enthusiasm and the older ones took on the challenge of abstract art. The results of both groups were stunning and clearly there are some budding artists at Fletewood. The art the children produced will be sold at an exhibition at the end of term with a prize for the best piece from each session.

I really enjoyed the change from working in the solitude of my studio and will be happy to do more workshops in the future.

Talking of studio I have also been busy knocking down a wall to bring more light into the studio and to give me more space.  I am really pleased with the result.

Until next time enjoy the buds of spring, take care Rosie

30th January 2017 January is nearly over and it has been a great start to 2017. My Persona Perspective exhibition has been a great success and I have met some lovely new people who I know are going to be good friends. I have sold three paintings this month and had two commission enquiries so happy days... I am changing the day I will be at the Devonport Guildhall Cells Gallery to Saturdays from 11ish to 3p.m. as a lot of you have told me it is better day for you to visit and meet me. Don't forget the exhibition is on until 25th February so do pop along, there is a great coffee shop in the same building and it makes the most amazing bread, sandwiches and cakes. Take care Rosie. 8th January 2017

First let me wish you all a happy and successful 2017.

I will be uploading more photos over the next few weeks so please keep looking.

Be happy and keep smiling Rosie.
